Websites for Dovercourt businesses

Dovercourt is the main retail town centre for the whole Harwich built-up area, the High Street is where the banks, shops and services are, while Harwich Old Town is the historic quarter.

It was built as a speculative Victorian resort: developer John Bagshaw began the project in 1845, and a chalybeate spring found at his Cliff House became the basis of a spa complex, giving Dovercourt its wide seafront roads and villa architecture.

The pair of cast-iron leading lighthouses on the beach, erected by Trinity House in 1863 and in use until 1917, are the town's signature image; Warner's holiday camp here was used as the location for the BBC's Hi-de-Hi! in the 1980s.

What we build

Built around how Dovercourt actually trades

01 / DOVERCOURT

Visitors deciding on the day

Seaside trade is decided in the moment. A visitor searching on the seafront wants opening hours, a menu they can actually read on a phone, and a way to book without a phone call. We build the page that answers all three before they scroll.

Found on Google and in AI answers

We set up the technical groundwork that local search rewards: proper page titles, structured data describing your business, a Google Business Profile that matches the site, and content written so ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can quote you accurately when someone asks them for a recommendation.

Local search

Getting found in and around Dovercourt

Someone searching for what you do in Dovercourt is usually on a phone, often within a few streets of Dovercourt High Street. We make sure the CO12 area is spelled out on the page and in the structured data behind it, so Google knows exactly where you work. With a station on the Mayflower Line in the town, a good share of your visitors are checking you on a phone mid-journey, so speed matters more than decoration. Local landmarks such as Dovercourt leading lighthouses are the kind of detail that makes a page read as genuinely local rather than generic.

We also make sure your business reads clearly to AI assistants. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for a recommendation in Dovercourt, the answer is only as good as the information those tools can read on your site. That is a large part of what we set up. You can read more about what AI search means for local businesses.
