pieces in the shop, each with its own page, image and structured data
Alice Kate Art.A shop built by hand.
Alice sells original paintings, prints and hand-made cards from her studio on Leigh Marina. Her Shopify site looked like a template, not like her. We built her something better.
Same artist. Different first impression.
The before is her old Shopify template on a myshopify.com address. The after is the site that is live today at alicekate.art, her handwriting as the logo, her studio shelves as the welcome. Drag the handle to compare.
The art was good. The shop didn't show it.
Alice, 22, had just taken the keys to her first studio shop and was selling through a default-theme Shopify site. The template showed categories instead of paintings, buried the Leigh Marina story on a back page, and sat on a temporary-looking myshopify.com address.
The job: a site that feels like walking into her studio and sells every piece properly.
Everything Shopify did, done her way
A design that is actually her
Her own handwriting became the logo. The colour palette came out of her lino prints. The homepage opens on a photograph of her real shop shelves, and her Instagram moments run through the site in her own words.
A full shop, hand-built
All 44 pieces got their own product page with basket and Stripe checkout. Stock takes care of itself: when something sells, the site marks it sold on its own. No platform, no plugins.
Set up to be found
Her own domain, alicekate.art. Structured data on every page so Google and AI tools understand each piece, plus a Google Business Profile for the studio shop, a sitemap, and proper titles written around what people in Leigh-on-Sea actually search for.
Hers to run
A simple admin panel lets Alice add pieces, change prices and mark work sold without touching code. She owns the domain, the design and every line of it.
The small stuff that matters
A proper hello@alicekate.art email address, an enquiry form that lands in her inbox, commissions handled by a short conversation instead of a checkout, and her Instagram and TikTok one tap away.

Have a look around
Every piece sold like it matters
Originals, prints and cards each have their own collection, and every piece has a page of its own. Tap a painting, add it to the basket, pay with Stripe. When an original finds a home, the site marks it sold by itself.
Her studio, front and centre
The old site hid the best part: a real artist in a real studio shop on Leigh Marina. The new one leads with it, from the shelves on the homepage to the open-day invites, in her own words from her own posts.
Built for the pocket first
Most of her visitors arrive from an Instagram bio link, on a phone. The site is a handful of fast static pages with compressed images, so the art is on screen before anyone thinks about giving up.
Why this matters beyond one artist. This is how we think about every build: keep what works (Stripe handles the payments), cut what gets in the way, and make sure the site is structured so Google, Maps and AI assistants can find it, trust it and recommend it. If your website is a template that could belong to anyone, there is probably a better way.
